Wyvern

Appearance: Wyverns range in color from slate-blue to gray to russet brown. Unlike true dragons, they are bipedal, having only hind claws and wings in the manner of a bird. A wyvern's build is thicker and more muscular than a dragon's, and they are much smaller. Their scales are rough and often scalloped at the edges. Many wyverns have vestigial horns over their eyes, in a crest at the backs of their necks, or on their snouts, but some do not. All wyverns have tails that end in a thick knot of cartilage tipped with a long, hollow stinger.
Known Range: Temperate hills and low mountains, including the Irontooths and Spinning Winds.
