//Star-Crowned, Keeper of the Silver Path, Dreamwalker//

Little is known of Syalus, the mystical deity worshiped by high elves across Parthysis. No temples to the god are known to exist, although there are isolated shrines and sacred places which his worshipers occasionally visit. In Coeur d'Ennui, Syalus' physical presence is represented by an open-air shrine of pale blue marble centered around a quiet, silver-rimmed reflecting pool. Most cities outside the elven lands do not boast even that much.

The elves do not reveal their god's secrets lightly, and Syalus rarely deigns to deal with members of other races. Of all the deities associated with specific races, he is the most aloof and uninviting to those who are not of his chosen people. While Syalus is generally recognized to possess goodly tendencies, his clerics can be cold and haughty in their dealings with “lesser” races, and his people do not often cooperate with the other goodly gods.

Syalus is strongly associated with the eldritch and mysterious aspects of the night. Starlight, dreams, and mystical reverie are all sacred to the deity. He is noted for communicating to his devotees by symbol and allusion in dreams, preferring to let them draw their own inferences rather than make explicit orders. Mystics and enchanters are particularly drawn to the worship of Syalus; many of the great magical artifacts of high elven civilization were wrought by rituals consecrated to the deity, and he remains one of the primary gods associated with the Art.
