Rongo Beaknose
Association: Disciple of Kriallas
Notes:
Rongo Beaknose is a mostly retired trap expert. He maintains a place among the more civilized members of society by offering his services to help protect their valuables by placing traps and illusions about them. Rongo has been providing his service in this manner for nearly twenty years, after a supposed heist went wrong and he was captured by the guard, forcing him to retire from his old ways. His protection business has a nearly impeccable record; items he places in protection have rarely been stolen, and even then all but a couple of the thieves have been caught and brought to justice, with the stolen good returned.
Rongo is also known in the underworld as a "go to" guy for help with unusually tricky traps. Rarely does he do any of the jobs himself, and he never sells out his clients, but he is all too eager (if the price is right) to help train apprentices for the trade. Those that go to him know that they will not be sold out to the guard any more than he will sell out one he has protected.
Rongo is a known associate of the famous artist Prilla Tranqi, and it is fairly well known that he put up a lot of protections for her painting the Plane-Crossed Lovers. Shortly after the unveiling of the painting, Rongo was kidnapped and questioned about his work, though it is believed he was rescued by a group of adventurers from the Parthenon before he was able to reveal all. Since his capture, it is known he re-engineered some of the protections around the painting, but has refused to take on any new clients, from any walk of life. Over the next couple of weeks his appearance had grown sickly, his already slim frame losing what little meat it had on the bones, and his well maintained goatee becoming general fuzz about his face.
Recently, Rongo has fled the Couer d'Ennui, taking with him Prilla's painting the Plane-Crossed Lovers. The exact circumstances that led to this theft are still unknown, but patrons of the Parthenon have some evidence that Rongo's actions might not of been of his own volition. The painting is known to be in the possession of Elowi Trulla, known former associates of Rongo and Prilla.
Most recently Rongo has been seen in the company of Erowa Trulla and Yolai the Apostate. His appearance there seemed to be completely voluntary, and a few comments from Yolai has made it apparent that Rongo has fallen in with the other Disciples of Kriallas.
