**Effects:** The halfling is often seen wearing a tattered, threadbare, tweed jacket with shiny new silver buttons over a white ruffled shirt. The clothing is unremarkable save for a slight blurring which seems to dance along its seams. Upon his breast, is a pendant of miniature panpipes, blown from iridescent green glass, bound with golden wire. Around his waist is a silver belt, marked with the symbols of Athyrian faith. While adventuring, Rolo wears a violet crystalline visor coupled to a golden helmet, and on his hands a pair of dark gauntlets crafted of labradorite, whose surfaces shines in a myriad of colors in the sunlight.

**Background:** Rolo was born in the town of Taffleberry on a mild summer morning. His birthfest, a common practice among halfling communities, was a three day-long party, celebrating the birth of the newborn halfling, and given that Rolo was the first child of Jebo and Lotte Emptybottle, it made this event that much more important to his family. Like all young halfling children, Rolo was allowed to indulge in this imaginations and curiosities. He was a playful youth, always full of fun and high spirits, and his constant jocularity earned him the reputation of being a bit of a clown. Rolo didn’t mind, he actually enjoyed the attention, but what he enjoyed the most was making people laugh and smile, especially his five younger brothers and three younger sisters.
When the kuduk was old enough, Rolo was chosen by Taffleberry’s premier poet-singer, Lalel Rumblebelly, the great-great-granddaughter of legendary halfling bard and adventurer, Altesia Rumblebelly, during the Masters’ Fair. During his apprenticeship, Rolo traveled with Lalel across Coeur d'Ennui’s countryside, as the poet-singer’s performances were in high demand by the many nobles of the region. Rumblebelly went through great lengths to make her lessons entertaining as well as educational, fostering the apprentice’s desire learn. Rolo grew fascinated by the art of story telling, so Rolo spend every minute of the little free time he had with his nose in a book, his absorption by all manner of tales was insatiable.

**Familiar:** Rolo is often seen with his familiar in tow, a masterfully crafted puppet resembling a miniature jester. The marrionette is complete with a painted up face, fool's hat and wardrobe, and stands at half the kuduk's height. Free of its strings, Woody practically never sits still as it constantly skips and prances about its master, cart-wheeling and performing other acts of foolery.

Rolo spent six years studying with Lalel, and under her tutelage his skills both as a musician and performer grew immensely. With his apprenticeship finished the halfling had two options, he could return home to his family, or continue his worldwalk. Rolo knew there was much more of the world he wanted to see, and so many more stories yet to be discovered, and so, his adventure began.

Additions:
**Distinguishable Marks:** Tattooed on Rolo's left shoulder are the dual masks of comedy and tragedy. A second, circular tattoo on his back, is split into four pieces, each bearing a holy symbol of the Children of Creation. The kuduk also has some minor puckered scarring along his face, neck, and shoulders from acid exposure.

**Weapons:** A serrated scimitar resides patiently in a discolored sheath. His missile weapon is a halfling-crafted crossbow, stylized with grape bunches and the dramatic symbols for comedy and tragedy, formerly owned by the legendary bard and adventurer, Altesia Rumblebelly. On his arm is the staple of the bard’s defense, a round, over-sized, brass shield, which also does double as a large gong.
