Redcap
Appearance: Redcaps are diminutive humanoids about four feet tall and weighing up to sixty pounds. They resemble tall halflings, except with a bloody hat and a mouth filled with jagged yellowed teeth. They carry scythes comically too large for their size, which they use with surreal and lethal proficiency.
Known Behaviors: Redcaps are vicious hunters and killers of all humanoid races, including their own. Despite their ravenous behavior, these creatures are capable of rational thought and will often employ amazing assault tactics and ambushes. Redcaps are highly superstitious: they always travel in odd numbers and they will not touch or cross moving water, among other strange beliefs. When slain, the creature and its possessions vanish in a soundless whirlwind that leaves behind only a single tooth.
Known Range: Rarely scattered across all environments, usually outside rural villages and poorly-defended towns.
