Overview
Known as the Jewel of the West, Pelos is the capital of the Holy Empire Aridoc, and one of the great cities of the world. For over three-thousand years, it served as the most important city in Western Meditra. Though V'tavia and the Coeur have recently eclipsed it in economic and political influence, it is still without peer as a cultural center.Pelos is located on the Cape of the Sun, a narrow headland that projects into the Center Seas. It is a city of limestone and gold, with tall spires and magnificant temples from each period of recorded history. Indeed, it is itself the West's strongest link to its tragic past. Its libraries are filled with artifacts and texts otherwise lost to history, treasures that the Pelosans hold in the same esteem as the crown jewels. Even the night-elves cannot help but be awed by the city's ancient beauty.
But history only goes so far. In the past few centuries, the city -- indeed, the Empire -- has been diminished by misrule, the fall of Cathilcarn, and conflicts with the Hillmen and the Ardasi.
