**Name:** Melius Cremal
**Race:** Andacougar
**Class:** Priest of Luorre
**Band:** Orange

**Gender:** Male
**Age:** 24
**Height:** 5’ 9”
**Weight:** 200 pounds
**Eyes:** Yellow
**Fur:** Grey with a Reddish Tint

**Distinguishable Marks:** Scarring across his right shoulder from an animal attack. Despite no known knowledge of druidic rights and spells, he will often be seen in a fight coated in a grey, oakish bark.

**Occupation:** Priest of Luorre. He spends most of his extra time helping take care of the Weigher of Soul’s Shrine in the Couer, and taking care of the oak sapling he has formed a bond with. Despite the necessity of more urban life in order to fulfill whatever duties have been placed on him by Luorre, the Priest prefers life outside the city. Whenever he can get away from the city, Melius can be found with his back to a tree, with a book in his hands.

**Effects:** Wears a dark brown cloak, with a bronze dragon clasp. Hanging at his waist is the iron sickle and scale of the Keeper of the Last Gates.

**Weapons:** A simple sword hangs at his side, rust spots beginning to appear down the length of the blade from lack of use and upkeep. Across his back is a bow of burnt yew that plays tricks with the light.

**Background:**

Dreams have guided Melius throughout his life.

Melius was born to a loving mother and father, though he remembers little of either, not even their names. His father was a scholar of little note, focusing on the history of Giants. His mother did nothing but stay at home and tend to the family. If Melius has any siblings, he doesn’t know of them.

As a young child, raised in a small village between Pelos and the Cathilcarn Mountains, Melius had a bit of a sadistic nature. Whenever his parents’ backs were turned, he’d manage to get away and would invariably end up torturing some small animal. His parents tried for months to break him of this habit, but the young andacougarling was unwilling, or unable to change.

Ironically, it was an accident that laid down the last straw. Caught in some random act, of which the priest cannot (or will not) remember, his mother came over to stop him. He held a knife in his hand, and when she spun Melius around, he inadvertently sliced his mom’s arm open. No amount of pleading, begging, or crying helped him at that point. His parents either did not listen, or did not believe his claims of it being an accident. By nightfall Melius was in Pelos, in the care of the priests of Luorre.

His parents’ plan was fairly ingenious. He held little regard for life, but perhaps those in service to the Judge could teach him- or at least prepare him for his eternal suffering.

Melius did not immediately take to his new surroundings or teachings. For over a year, the anda seemed hopeless- but a dream turned him around. What happened in that dream noone knows, and the priests of Luorre at Pelos still talk about the miracle change to this day. No matter what caused the change, after that night Melius had a reverence for life- especially that of those not capable of defending themselves by more intelligent species such as human. This reverence extended for both animal and plant-life. The anda also seemed to have gained an innate abillity to understand the natural death cycle found in nature.

Melius spent another decade at Pelos with the Luorrites. He would often leave the city for days at a time, and often the priests thought he was leaving, but in reality he was just looking for time alone, away from the city. Most of this time he’d go climbing in the Cathilcarn Mountains, spending time learning the local wildlife and teaching himself about the uses of various plants. Often on these trips he would find himself wandering across the village he grew up in- but could never bring himself to returning to his parents’ house.

It was another dream that pushed Melius into the clergy. Waking up from a nightmare in which his family was killed by a swarm of zombies, the anda decided to take the vows instilling him in the order of the Judge. Although it was just a dream, the priest never returned to the village in which he was born.

Melius stayed in Pelos for another year, learning all the tenets of the faith. On the night after he took his final vows, another dream moved the andacougar- this time physically, in that it sent him away from the city he had known and within which he had grown. Saying his goodbyes, the priest set off for the Couer d’Ennui, though for what purpose still does not know.

Melius died giving his life up for others. Facing a Greater Vampire, and seeing no hope for escape, Melius offered to give up if the Vampire would let them go. The Vampire, seeing Melius was a Luorrite, said if he killed himself, he would let the others go. Seeing no other options, and at least a chance for the others to live, Melius agreed, and fell upon his sword.

**Familiar:** Melius is bonded to a living oak sapling that is planted by the shrine of Luorre in the Couer.
