Medusa

Appearance: Medusas have the figures of lithe young women and, from a distance, can easily be mistaken for them. Up close, however, their scaly skin and the venomous snakes that serve as their "hair" betray their true nature. Medusas' eyes are slitted like serpents', and they have forked tongues. Their height ranges from five to five and a half feet, and they typically weigh between one hundred and one hundred twenty five pounds.
Known Behaviors: Vain and luxury-loving, medusas frequently seek out human cities where they can indulge their tastes for finery, art, and spectacle. They use their magical talents to blend in, or else to make themselves valuable enough that certain circles will overlook their monstrous natures. Medusas gravitate to the underworld in urban settings.
Some medusas prefer isolation and move out to remote ruins, abandoned temples, or other areas that offer privacy and picturesque decay. Regardless of whether they live in cities or desolation, medusas often like to collect their more interesting petrifications as "sculptures" to be admired. In at least one instance, a disguised medusa rose to prominence as a sculptor in a large city before the macabre truth of her "artworks" was revealed and she was forced to flee.
Known Range: Any.
