Nothing delights Kliasta's worshipers nearly so much as cruelty. Perhaps unsurprisingly, this translates to a distaste for open conflict. It is, after all, nearly impossible to find time for leisurely tortures on the battlefield. Kliasta's Temples center in large cities, where devotees can practice their faith in secret while pursuing outwardly normal lives by day. The Lady's clergy often act as underworld torturers and interrogators, making their living by extracting information from prisoners, running “exotic” brothels, and occasionally blackmailing visitors to those brothels. They are not merely ruthless but crueler than necessary, seizing any excuse to inflict pain; to this end, they maintain links with [[Anvhad]] and [[FalcoAerandius Falco's]] people.
It is said that the goddess dwells in a frosty castle upon a plain of ice—an oddly fanciful conceit for an otherwise relentlessly pragmatic faith, but one that worshipers seem to imbue with considerable symbolism. Many of the Kliastan emblems are fraught with such symbolism; indeed, for obliqueness, secrecy and nuances of allusion, the Lady of Pain runs a close second to Anvhad.
