Hair: Sunfire Blonde, worn braided to the middle of his back.
Complexion: Smooth, copper-toned.
Distinguishable Marks: Has a Trollsblood ink tattoo of a flaming longsword surrounded by a Celestian sunburst on his right breast. Scarred, in rippled, hairless, patches along his back and parts of his arms, due to having fallen unconscious in molten tar.
Occupation: Knight in service to Earl Ealdor the Pious. Paladin, Heliae, and Consecrated Sword in service to the goddess Celestia.
Effects: Khierien is often arrayed in garb of the purest white, with the Sword of Celestia insignia ever stitched upon the right breast. With his appointment as a Knight, he has taken to wearing clothes of a more courtly appeal, but still with the functionality required of one used to instant action, as well as the gold chain signifying his office. Khierien is hardly ever seen without his consecrated sword, Blazing Glory, a brightly polished longsword with a hilt of twisted gold and a fiery, deep orange jacinth at the pommel.
Holy Steed: Kalaire, a winged-lion native to the Celestial Planes.
Character Background: Khierien became a ward of the Celestian church at an early age. A Heliae patrol passing through the southern Delverness forest happened upon the young sun elf bleeding amidst the ruins of an elven caravan. As the years passed, Khierien was moved from parish to parish, never quite fitting in with his human caretakers due to the long lifespan of his race. It was while helping to defend an Illuminer pilgrimage against brigands, that Khierien first felt Celestia's call. Soon after he made his way to the Coeur and began his training as a paladin in the Bright Lady's service.
Khierien excelled in his studies, showing a fervor and tenacity that impressed, and often times concerned, his teachers. It wasn't long before he was anointed as a full paladin, and sent out into the world to right wrongs and bear Celestia's light. Beseeching the Bright Lady for guidance, Khierien literally stumbled into the Parthenon Inn while on patrol within the city. The mercenary guild offered many chances for the paladin to do the Light's work
His first adventure took him to the Illuminer's Keep, a former Celestian stronghold overrun by evil. The attrocities he witnessed there, both by his comrades and the denizens of the keep, help to set him on his endless crusade against the darkness of the world. Not too soon after that, Khierien became involved with the Baozite war against the kingdom of Thelyand. It was during that war that the paladin was rewarded for his efforts by Celestia, and consecrated as her Sword. It was also during another struggle against the Baozites that Khierien happened upon the Solarion Kalaire, who has served as the paladin's faithful steed ever since. After the conflict between the Baozites and the Thelyands came to an uneasy stalemate, Khierien returned to taking jobs out of the Parthenon, eradicating evil and uplifting the goodly folk of the realm wherever he could.
Earl Ealdor the Pious granted Khierien lands and a title after the Celestian rescued one of the Earl's knights from slavery. The paladin continues to reside over the fiefdom and attend the royal court, using the lands resources in to help fund his sacred duties. Khierien has now dedicated himself to the teaching of a new generation of crusaders, and hopes to one day found an army devoted to extinguishing darkness in the far reaches of the world.
