**Name:** Ignus
**(Sub-)Race:** Elf (Ignus's severe injuries make ascertaining his sub race nearly impossible. Indeed he could almost be mistaken as a human)
**Class:** Elementalist
**Band:** Orange
**Gender:** Male
**Height: ** 6'
**Weight:** 135 lb
**Eyes:** Marbled red and orange.
**Hair:** None
**Distinguishable Marks:** Ignus is covered extensively in old 3rd degree burns leaving his skin a crusty shell of burnt and scabbed, dry skin. The expansiveness is very disturbing, and even his face is ashen and flaky, his cratered scalp caked in rivulets and scales. As a result he has an emaciated, almost skeletal frame. Capitalizing on this visage and perhaps even more disturbing, Ignus's irises are a bizarre reddish orange.
**Occupation:** Painter.
**Character Background:** Ignus was borne into aristocracy. He was always a passionate youth who followed his whims and pursued his desires with great tenacity. His family, while not noble, possessed extreme wealth and traveled in upper circles. They lived in the Old City where Ignus's mother was a true patron and connoisseur of fine art, and from a young age Ignus was instructed in the finer points of artistic method and theory. Ignus eventually found his passion in painting, and poured his efforts into it. He blossomed into quite the young prodigy. His parents decided to send him to a boarding school of art and Ignus had a difficult time adjusting. He was frequently an outcast and had difficulty making friends. It bothered Ignus when others were more proficient, and he would push himself to dangerous limits to surpass his peers. It was during these years of his life that Ignus became much more impulsive and prone to fits of anger that sometimes erupted in outbursts of violence. It was also during this time that Ignus met a young man named Athar who played a critical role in shaping what would come to be Ignus's twisted view on religions and deities.
Towards his graduation, Ignus was at the top of his class. His mother, so very proud of him, arranged an event for Ignus to show off his work to some wealthy and influential patrons and critics. She even pulled some strings to invite some of the Cour's nobility. Ignus worked tirelessly on a presentation that would inspire awe in all who viewed it. The paintings he made were by and large a work in abstract art, a trendy new style unlike anything taught in classes or by teachers. The pieces were made by following one's heart, painting with one's soul rather than one's hands and eyes, and required insight and imagination on part of viewers to appreciate.
The presentation was a horrible failure. In the aftermath of this disgrace, Ignus murdered his mother by stabbing her in the eye with the handle of a paintbrush. Ignus relocated to the New City with a young woman named Josephine and set up a small gallery selling paintings for income. Years later, Ignus now lives with his lover, Josephine, in that small gallery in the New City where he hides from his past while pursuing a new passion.
Ignus is a bit unstable. He seems to sometimes have difficulty seperating reality from fantasy. When dealing with Ignus it can be difficult to distinguish between his actual perceptions of reality and what is merely the figment of a fractured mind. Ignus's propensity towards impulsivity and outbursts of anger paired with his newfound obsession with fire makes for a dangerous combination.
