**Armor:** When Hess suits up for combat or an adventure he usually suits up in a carefully fitted chain mail suit made of silver, ethereal strands. It is often the armor that can be found being worn by Celestian soldiers. The armor has been custom fit to Hess so it attaches around his wings, allowing him the ability to still fly with it on. His wings are covered by wingplates made out of a bluish mithral-steel alloy patterned to resemble overlapping feathers. A top his head is the crowning piece of his armor, a gilded steel helm with the Celestian sunburst traced in red gold over the visor.

Did he seek out some knowledge from the Illuminer's in V'tavia? Was he on a holy quest? Or was he just hiding in the Irontooth Mountains, where he was born; trying to figure things out?

His trousers also vary from brown leather sets for cooler days, to thin white linens for warmer days. He also has a heavy white woolen cloak embroidered with the Celestian sunburst and trimmed in silver for the extremely cold days when he is trying to keep his wings warm. He often wears one of two amulets from a chain, the first being a Celestian symbol with three distinct crystals of red, yellow and orange incorporated into the design. The other is a palm-sized golden disc divided into twelve radiating sections; each with an eye-shaped jewel of a different color at its outer rim and in the center is an eye-shaped crystal. He also wears a pair of mundane looking studded bracers which have a matching pair of gloves, though the gloves are often found tucked away into his left belt pouch. The other smaller belt pouch attached on his right side is just the perfect size for fitting shurikens in, as well as having room to spare for a few coins. Off either side there is a series of small hoops through which a foot-long wooden rod hangs. Both rods give off the occasional wisp of otherworldy flame, this effect intensifies whenever Hess nears someone or something that is evil. Hess' boots are also of note as they are made of golden hued leather and etched into the leather is a sunburst pattern.

**Occupation:** Hess' first job when arriving at the inn was to take care of the bar and cellars. He eventually moved on to being one of the lesser known adventurers. His use of blackjacks seemed to make him stand out as useless initially, but over time he learned to harness the ability to move the light-weight weapons at lightning fast speeds. It wasn't long before he also learned two wallies at the same time, doubling his lethality. His heart then took him to fill in a niche that was missing within the inn as a trap springer. During his journies as a trap springer he fell in love with the idea of hunting treasure. He even found a manuscript by a great treasure hunter on the techniques to make the most of every dungeon crawl. Hess still employs these techniques today.
Hess is also considered a master treasure hunter and is able to aid in the finding of hidden treasure.

**Distinguishable Marks:** From his various adventures Hess has picked up a distinguishable markings to his body however most are not visible in his normal garb. Along his left shoulder and upper back there is a purplish, bruise-like discoloration where a bloodwight's drain caused permanent cosmetic damage to surface capillaries. Right below his belly button is ragged, thick scarring and burn marks from when he was nearly torn in half by a hellfire demon. And finally there is a rough scar running in a circle around left ankle, marking where his foot was severed by a barbed wire trap then later reattached. He has an almost imperceptible limp on this side, although not enough to hinder him seriously.

**Holy Companion:** Kameda is Hess' bound sun dog (planar entity). He appears on this plane as a large, collie-like golden dog with amber eyes, though do not let the presentation fool you; Kameda is capable of sentient thought. More often than once has the sun dog acted in a manner to save not only Hess but his entire party. The most notable time of which was when he and his companions were sent to fight a Beholder. Kameda managed to maintain the attention of the beholder's petrification eye for several minutes allowing the rest of the party to take care of the monster. Sadly in the last moments of the fight Kameda was petrified but this did not harm the sun dog since he merely returned to his own plane to recover. The sun dog follows Hess' orders only because Hess remains true to his word and pure of heart.
In addition to being capable of communicating directly with Hess while they are both on this plane, the sun dog has several innate abilities. These abilities allow it to emulate the effects of Faith Healing, Luminance, and Purify. Kameda can also see in nonmagical darkness, though the dog's eyes shine brightly when doing so, providing limited light in the immediate area for others.
