Hess Sefony

This chronicles the accomplishments of Hess Sefony as of 7/17/08
(These accounts are not IC knowledge to other characters unless they were present at the time, or they learn about them from Hess)

17 Jul 08 - A farm southwest of Rook's Lookout had noticed disturbing sets of tracks near their property. A young man named Firro was sent to the Parthenon to search for help. A group of patrons were sent to investigate the incident, Hess assuming the lead role as the most senior of the team. It was a full days ride and then some so the patrons had to stop and make camp for the night. They encountered a strange wagon on the road with the initials M.T.G. (claimed to be Mandarin Trading Group) on the side. The half-orc driver seemed to be quite well mannered and his bodily features showed no sign of a rough life. He also was talking to someone in the wagon who was never identified. The driver didn't radiate an evil presence and so they were allowed to continue. The group rose early the next morning and set off for the farm. They found it with little difficulty as Firro's directions worked out well. It wasn't long before the group was greeted by the farmers and their horses put into the farmhouse. They were also informed that Jin, another of the farmers was hurt and that the group would see him once they returned to see if they could offer any spare healing services. The group tracked down the nuissence through the woods and wound up finding two sets of Wargs on which were mounted two bugbears, and also two Hill Giants. The fight went smoothly for most, however Anduin suffered a broken leg when one of the hill giants violently smashed him with a tree. One bugbear lived through the fight and he was interrogated by the group. He gave up information that there was a sink-hole being used by several dozen of his companions and would be a staging point for an invasions of several smaller towns nearby. The bugbear however would not give up where it was located. After this information was gleaned, Hess duly smashed the head of the bugbear in, ending its life.

18 Jul 08 - The painter of Plane-Crossed Lovers, Prilla Tranqi came to inn looking for some help in tracking down her lost Halfling Trapper named Rongo. Rongo had gone missing the previous night and was the 2nd of 3 trappers that Prilla hired and had gone missing. The first turned up dead not too long ago. Prilla wanted to ensure that the trapper wouldn't divulge any information about the types of traps set to protect her precious painting. Luckily enough she had placed a tracking spell on the remaining two trappers when the first turned up dead so his location was easy enough to find. The journey took them cross town to a series of warehouses. The specified warehouse was easy enough to find, and the group set about determining what the best course of action would be for entering. They quickly found out that each of the three possible entrances were inscribed with a rune of alarm. So as the party continued to debate the best way to enter, screams were heard from inside; the time to act was now. The group burst in through the front doors and began a mad dash through the maze of warehouses. It eventually lead to an opening in which the group noticed a doorway which through they saw a halfling bound and being prodded by a robed figure. Quickly a large demonic figure enshrouded in shadows came from the room to block the view. From the ceiling a second figure dropped in. This figure stood fifteen feet high with emerald green leathery skin and four clawed arms gripping onto a warhammer and large double bladed axe. A large fight quickly broke out between the two forces, Hess quickly advanced on the four armed demon whittling him down with his holy blackjacks. It wasn't long though before Hess was knocked unconscious. He awoke later to see both demons had been sent back to their original planes, while the robed figure was gone. He learned that the robed figure vanished shortly after he was knocked unconscious, and Rongo was still alive and well. The group took what items were left over and returned to Prilla. Prilla was thankful for the return of Rongo and paid the group for their services, and also allowed them a private viewing of the painting, 'Plane-crossed Lovers'.

21 Jul 08 - Rongo came back to the inn with an illusionist disguised as Prilla. The illusionist, Alesia, wound up being the 3rd trapper that was trying to protect the Plane-Crossed Lovers. Alesia had wanted protection on her journey across the land to where she was meeting a ship that would take her on to her destination. Several patrons offered to go and protect her. The group wound up making it safely to the shore but there was no boat waiting there. Instead what happened was a Mezzolith and two demon hounds, along with some other half-elven undead looking creature ambushed the group at nightfall. The battle was going well until the half-elven creature disappeared from sight and reappeared next to Alesia. Hess valiantly attempted to swoop down and save her, but was too slow. By the time he arrived the creature had teleported away with Alesia. When the group returned to tell Rongo and Prilla what had happened they were turned away because pieces of Alesia's body had adorned Prilla's gallery.

3 Aug 08 - A merchant requiring caravan guards came to the inn seeking a group of mercenaries. The pay was 75ss, enough to get Hess willing to offer his services. On the way out to the caravans the group came across Rongo, who had a noticeable infection growing on his ear. Hess decided not to confront the halfling in public about it and would question him later. The journey was uneventful except for the first night when one of the non-patron guards was knocked unconscious by some unknown force. Other than that the journey to Knight's Lake was simple, a group of four goblins attempted to ambush the party but in a single Deluge, Terro finished them all off. After arriving in Knight's Lake, while being paid Hess decided to see to look further into the motivations of the merchant and found out he emitted an aura of evil. His name was Travlin, a drug smuggler. The group considered breaking into the warehouse and to retrieve the drugs, but decided it wasn't worth their time in an unfamiliar place, and so they took their money and left. Another event of note was that the guard who was knocked unconscious ran away in terror after being paid by Travlin.

8 Aug 08 - Hess Sefony and Doc Glory Blade had a friendly spar in one of the rings in the parthenon. Doc opted to not wear any armor, or even bother to parry any of Hess' attacks. Hess decided to employ his full combat potential, by swinging his blackjack resembling sticks as fast as he could. The spar ended rather quickly without Doc parrying, and the elder man was soon on the floor. Following this spar, Ignus wanted to have a spar as well, but since no one else in the inn wanted to fight, Hess offered to fight him. A straight up match would have been too easy, so the terms were set that Hess would only use shurikens. This fight was only mildly more interesting, with Ignus actually electrocuting Hess rather painfully initially. After that though, it only took six shurikens (as predicted before the fight) by Hess to knock the fire elementalist out. The two afterwards went to have tea at Ignus' house, and discuss some of the recent events going on in the Couer. Specifically Hess thought Ignus might have some insight into the mind of Prilla, being both elementalists.

25 Oct to 1 Nov 08 - A group consisting of Hess, Rolo, Holtin, Goldn, Glapoes, Nimea, Shoendar and an orc named Nok set forth on a journey to Castle Prollitus. After a month or more of research; Rolo, Hess and Glapoes found out that this is where the painting 'Plane-Crossed Lovers' had wound up. The castle was also rumored to be infested with everything from dragons to vampires, so the group knew they had to be prepared. They enlisted the help of Fyrestarr to brew up aproximately one hundread healing potions to bring with them. With their preparations complete, the group took a boat ride to Aridoc to begin their journey to the castle. Encountering various characters along the way, none of which provided much information, the group eventually found themselves within eye-sight of the castle.

16 Feb 09 - Arthor came to the inn injured, claiming he was just attacked by Krowicious. Hess, Rolo, Holtin and a few others went to find out what had happened. They encountered Krowicious had stolen the Lourrite Scythe. Krowicious teleported away early in the fight, and the rest were left to fight a bladed golem. The golem fell after a short fight, and exploded upon it's death. Rolo broke his arm, but no one else was seriously injured beyond that.
