Goblin

Appearance: Goblins stand three to four feet tall and weigh thirty-five to fifty pounds on average. They have flat faces, weak chins, broad noses and small, jaggedly pointed teeth. Many goblins, male and female alike, are bald or have receding hairlines. Their skin ranges from light tan to olive, and their hair is usually black or very dark green. Their arms are proportionally longer than humans', such that their fingers nearly brush the ground when they walk. Goblins have only three fingers and a thumb on each hand.
Known Behaviors: Goblin society is organized into a tribal structure with a simple hierarchy decided by who can beat whom. Males, who do almost all the hunting and raiding, occupy a much higher position in goblin society than the females. As the physical weaklings of their world, goblins have a great respect for cunning and trickery, and a goblin with a reputation for craftiness can rise high among his people. Goblins resent and envy those stronger than themselves; they are particularly spiteful to captives who were once stronger than their goblin jailers, and though they snivel and grovel before more powerful evil masters, they tend to be lazy, whiny, and thieving servants.
A goblin's lot in life is not an enviable one. Able neither to withstand the onslaught of organized armies nor to compete with the top predators in harsh environments, they live in the gaps between civilized nations and true wildernesses. Goblins are societal scavengers: they scratch together a living from what they can beg or steal off more powerful neighbors, but can rarely hunt or farm enough to be truly self-sufficient. They raid villages, steal from towns by night, and prey on wandering travellers, retreating from any serious threat. In the company of orcs and evil humans, goblins are often used as porters, animal herders, and cannon fodder. As the weakest of the glamodrim, goblins are often treated with contempt by humans and orcs alike; however, their sheer numbers can make them formidable if gathered into hordes.
Known Range: Any temperate, with known tribes in the Irontooth Mountains, Cathilcarn, Northwestern Calantyr, and around Ang'arta.
