Firemane Angel
Appearance: Firemane angels are among the sternest and fiercest of their kind. Both male and female firemanes stand six to seven feet tall and weigh around two to three hundred pounds. Wild tresses of living fire tumble down their shoulders and to mid-back, trailing after them in streams of flame when they fly. Echoes of that fire flicker in the irises of their eyes. Their skin is alabaster white, as are their wings, though the outer feathers are smokestained gray and edged in black.
Firemanes seldom smile, even in the company of their divinely good masters, and they are always among the quickest to respond to any threat. Firemanes dress for battle even when going about their everyday business; they are almost never seen without sword and shield at the ready.
Known Behaviors: In a firemane's conception of the cosmos, evil lurks in every shadow and waits to pounce at every moment of weakness; only through constant vigilance can it be kept back. Firemanes have little patience for hesitation or temptation, and though they are fierce when protecting the weak, they also firmly believe that every creature should be able to use whatever strength it has to defend itself. Self-pity earns their scorn.
As befits their martial worldview, firemane angels serve as soldiers and guardians in the holy realm of Amalthir. They are also the most common emissaries sent to aid goodly beings in Bierilon. Firemanes have an undying hatred of fiends, undead, and those mortals who willingly bring them into the world, and need no urging to join a battle against such foes.
Known Range: Vale of Stars, Amalthir, anywhere in Bierilon.
