Exultants

Exultants are banes of the living and the pure, a classification of extraplanar beings in the service of, or bound to the palace of, the unholy deity Zhardis. They draw negative energy from the undying god and are usually vulnerable to energy drawn from Purity domains. Their appearance on Bierilon is rare and alarming, signifying an invested interest from the highest Zhardian authorities.
The realm of Zhardis corrupts or destroys visitors who do not already obey the path of depravity, resulting in an army of mixed backgrounds and questionable loyalties. The forms of those creatures considered exultant from creation are derived from the imagination of a corrupt deity and, as a consequence, possess few common qualities. Many resemble angels, fiends, or a combination of both, while others take on the disjointed characteristics of undead humanoids and grotesque aberrations.
All exultants share some measure of creating undead and most flaunt this ability by surrounding themselves in packs of mentally-controlled abominations. While it is true that exultants share an intrinsic empathy with undead beings and strongly favor them over the living, there exists no intervention preventing the rare scuffle between uncontrolled undead and a self-serving exultant.
