Enhanced Venoms


In addition to using materials listed in the Apothecary, characters with the Poison Lore skill and Knowledge: Witching can make the following items. All items require a successful Poison Lore check to create, and the creator must be of the item's level or higher. A character can make one enhanced venom per day.

The first number listed with each entry is the creation cost per dose. The second is its resale value. Except where noted, enhanced venoms must be fenced via Streetwise (not always because the poison itself is illegal, but because the buyers who can use such things tend to keep low profiles).

Boggart Giggle Powder - Flaky pink powder with miniscule fragments of pearly bone: the remains of dead boggarts. Level 16 inhalation poison. Boggart Giggle Powder is typically prepared in paper-wrapped balls that can be thrown up to 25' and disperse in a 5'-radius cloud. Creatures caught in the cloud must save vs. (Will+End)/2 or be dazed for the remainder of that round and the next 3 rounds as they are lost in giggling euphoria. A new save is permitted at the beginning of each round to shake off the effects, and the effect is broken if a victim is attacked. Huldrefolk save on (Will+End)/4 to resist, and boggarts automatically fail. (100 ss/125 ss) [Requires the remains of one dead huldrefolk per dose to make.]

Bonebreaker Dust - Fine ivory dust made from the powdered bones of slain undead. Level 12 contact poison. Bonebreaker Dust is usually prepared in paper-wrapped balls that can be thrown up to 25' and disperse in a 5'-radius cloud. When the dust contacts a skeletal undead, it causes 3BC10 damage as it weakens and crumbles the creature's bones. Save vs. End/3 for half damage. Non-skeletal undead, and creatures which are made of bones but not undead, are unaffected. (75 ss/100 ss)

Faebane - Jade-green liquid with tiny silver hairs floating inside and an odor of bitter mint. Steeped from silverweed leaves and filtered through cold iron filings, this Level 13 injection venom has an onset time of one round, after which it neutralizes the fae's damage resistance for the next 5 rounds (if the fae has DR greater than 5, DR is reduced by 5 points instead of being neutralized outright) and causes a flat 5 points of damage per round. Save vs. End to reduce duration to 3 rounds, End/2 for no effect. (50 ss/75 ss)

Liquid Sunlight - Radiant golden oil that feels almost painfully warm to the touch and dazzles if stared at directly. Level 13 injection poison. Inflicts 3BC10+3 damage on sunlight-vulnerable undead, including incorporeals such as shadows, after a two-round onset time (save vs. Will/2 for half damage). No effect on light-vulnerable creatures which are not undead. (75 ss/100 ss)

Trollwrack - Sticky, foul-smelling fluid brewed from fermented toad spit and dried, crushed whitethorn spines. Level 13 injection venom; after a one-round onset time, suppresses the regenerative abilities of aberrations for the next 5 rounds. No effect on regenerating creatures that are not aberrations. Save vs. End/3 for no effect. (60 ss/85 ss)
