Dryad

image

Appearance: Slender and graceful, dryads are possessed of a strange, sylvan beauty. Their appearance is reflective of their trees; birch dryads have white skin and dark eyes with green-gold hair, while maple dryads have golden-brown skin and hair that goes through a brilliant color shift each autumn. All dryads appear to be female, and all are strikingly lovely, though there is always something alien and faintly unsettling about their beauty to mortal eyes. They are anywhere from four to six feet tall and lithely proportioned to their height.

Known Behaviors: Dryads are shy and reclusive fae. They keep to their forests and seldom seek the company of mortals. Folklore is rife with tales of unsuspecting humans charmed into a dryad's arms.

Known Range: Ancient forests including the deep Delverness and the Black Forest. Rumors abound of dryads in the Gildwood, but whether there is any truth to these tales remains unknown.
