**Background:**

The Dwarf’s of Durabar are a hearty and strong people, and their allegiance with the Duchy going back generations, as the history goes. As the trade between the two cities grew with the passing years, so did the raids upon the caravans of goods by Brigands and Thieves. Stout Dwarven and Human guards were hired to protect them in time, and soon a lucrative business for hired swords was founded both stops of the trade route.

Some would say that Cormac’s family was drawn to the occupation of hired sword out of requirement for the deep gambling debts they had, others say they just happen to enjoy being bruisers. Either way, it wasn’t long before the Ulfada family entered the business, and apparently walked away from whatever clan it was they belonged to. Finding some success, the rumors of the wealth away from the ancestral cavernous forts found a home in their minds.

It was Cormac’s father that convinced him to move to the Couer d’Ennui in search for more profitable work when the Caravan season had ended, although it was more likely the proximity of Ygorl’s gambling hall had more to do with the family’s move than anything else. The Ulfada’s were many things, rough, stout of heart, good in a fight, but they were gambling addicts and slightly mad above all else according to those who met them.

Upon arriving, and finding the city riff with opportunities, Cormac seemed to excel at doing odd protection jobs for the various rackets that are about the Southern side of the City. Fate, as it always does, found a way to step in and change Cormac’s life slightly at this point. Accepting a small contract to shake down a Bar Tender who had failed to meet the month’s protection payment, he went down to the Dock side bars, and located his mark.

As it happened, the mark was none other than Regina, a rather swarthy looking burly female of Dwarven descent, who it was said had a knack for starting brawls in her own bar. Upon entering, Cormac found the watering hole almost deserted, broken chairs and tables littering the floor, and Regina behind the pathetically stocked bar. What ensued is up for debate; however it took six men to separate the two from killing each other after a lengthy fight spilled out onto the street. Spitting out blood, and with a smile, Cormac asked the Dwarven lass to marry him. Being equally dimwitted, and impressed with her opponent, she agreed and the two were quickly married. Little is known of how the two got around the unpaid protection money, but most think Cormac’s father paid it out of his own pocket as a wedding gift.

Taking up residence above Regina’s establishment, ‘The Anchor’, Cormac continued gambling and accepting contracts for the various guilds and gangs. As the fights between the two continued, their own method of exposing their love for each other, the other tenants slowly left, leaving Cormac and Regina both to seek new lines of more gainful employment.

**Effects:** Dressed in rough browns and grays, Cormac is rarely described as ‘well put together.’ A wooden ring wraps itself around one finger, a symbol of his affection for his dear Regina, while he usually is seen wearing a cloak made out of old wool blankets, moth eaten and reeking of stale beer.

**Weapons:** A war hammer and arbalest are usually seen slung across his shoulders. To those he has spoken to, some might argue his breath is enough of a potent weapon.

**Companion:** Regina is always at his side during bouts of drinkin’, but usually is out working on the Docks during his times in the Inn.

**Skills & Services:**

None of Note.
