Celestials
"Celestial" is a classification that applies to any creature native to the Vale of Stars. Angels are the best-known of these, but the term also applies to other races, such as the eladrin, and even to the animals that roam through that blessed realm, such as solarions and phoenixes.
All celestial beings are inherently good. Many resemble their mortal counterparts, though they are always more regal and often slightly larger. Celestial creatures are frequently tinged with gold, silver, white or platinum. They do not age, and when on their home plane they have no need to eat, drink or sleep, though they may choose to do so for pleasure.
Intelligent celestials may pay fealty to the various goodly deities who rule in Amalthir or join in the angels' crusades against the fiends of the Abyss; those of animal intelligence are rarely drawn into such affairs, and are content to lead their own lives in the Vale of Stars.
Celestials who spend long periods in Bierilon are known to occasionally fall in love with mortals of pure heart. These unions can result in half-celestial children, who are blessed with exceptional beauty and visible signs of their immortal parentage. They are strongly inclined toward good and often rise to become paladins or other dedicated servants of the goodly gods.
