**Name:** Calima Maranwe
**Race:** Celestial Elf
**Class:** Priestess
**Band:** White
**Gender:** Female
**Height:** 5'10"
**Weight:** 120 lbs.
**Eyes:** Platinum
**Hair:** Platinum
**Occupation:** Priestess of Celestia
**Residence:** Dome of the Sun
**Effects:** She wears the yellow robes of an illuminer with her hair tied up in a ponytail.
**Weapons:** As a priestess of the light, she is more inclined to heal and discourage ignorance than fight. That doesn't mean she isn't capable of defending herself though. Settled on her left hip is a low quality elven scimitar and a quiver and bow is sometimes slung over her left shoulder.
**Background:**
Calima Maranwe was born on a bright beautiful morning to Rilya Maranwe, her mother, and Hanu Inwisti, her father, only a hundred and twenty-four years ago within the forest city of Tal’Leuthilor. Both Rilya and Hanu are servants of Celestia, and being so afforded them some of the best healers at their disposal for the birthing, with one of those healers being Calima’s grandmother Vanima Maranwe. The birth was easy with the labor only lasting seven hours with little strain on the mother and daughter.
With both her mother (a priestess) and her father (a paladin) being servants of Celestia, Calima was raised to uphold the morals of the church and be kind to those who are deserving of her love and attention. She was always bringing to the attention of her parents an injured bird or some other wounded creature of the woods. The display of divine magic and the good that it provided for those around her set Calima on the path to becoming a healer and priestess, following in the footsteps of Maranwe women going back several generations. Vanima, also a Celestian priestess, was an avid gardener and helped aid Calima’s general knowledge of herbs and ways of procuring them.
At the age of eleven Calima was taken to the Celestian temple in Tal’Leuthilor to join a few other elven children and became an initiate to their faith. Calima’s love of life, as well as her heritage, gave her high hopes of becoming a priestess like her mother and grandmother. On that day she also met three other young girls that would end up being her closest friends later on in her life, Almarea Vilwarin, Marta Quare, and Narya Pilindi. Despite Almarea, Marta and Narya not following Calima on the same path or staying within the faith at all, the four young elven woman remain best of friends.
As an initiate in the order, she started out doing what every initiate must do. She had to do chores, study, and if one of the older or higher ranked of the order asked something of her she had to comply. With every chore and order she fulfilled she learned patience, obedience, respect, and diligence. The church and the people became her life and her love. For fourteen years she was an initiate, or novice as some would like to call it, and despite the hard work and effort she had to put forth, it was, in her mind, worth every minute.
At the age of twenty-four she had proven herself to be worthy of the title of priestess, her faith never faltering and her desire to help the innocent and weak growing every year.
The years between then and now have been filled with gardening, healing the injured and administering potions/poultices. She worked closely with her mother and grandmother, making trips to Tavarhaya and a few settlements outside of the Black Forest as emissaries of good will. But as of a few months ago, she was given the opportunity to travel to the city of Coeur d’Ennui to learn from the priests at the Dome of the Sun. It was a chance she couldn’t pass up. A chance to help people outside of the elven community and the chance to spread Celestia’s light to the unfortunate. To ease the pain of others. Perhaps even make a name for herself. As the time to leave for the outer world came nearer, she called upon her closest friends to make the trip with her. She left Tal’Leuthilor by carriage and in the company of Almarea, Marta and Narya.
