Athyria
Lady of Chivalry, Protectress of the Innocent, Maiden of the White RoseThe chivalrous ideal lives on in the faith of Athyria. Her knights are trained in courtesy as well as swordplay, drilled in codes of honor both on and off the battlefield. For generations, the highest brotherhood of paladins dedicated to Athyria—the Order of the White Rose—has represented the finest flower of knighthood, and their members figure largely in the epics and romances of chivalric literature.
Athyria's Church often cooperates with Ahlrigh's, as the two deities' interests frequently coincide, but as a rule her worshipers tend to be less severe. While they strive to uphold much the same moral code, Athyria's paladins recognize that not everyone can meet their standards, and they seek to lead by example rather than expecting others to match their discipline.
Honor, duty, and the defense of the innocent are the main ideals championed by the Lady of Chivalry. Her worshipers are steadfast in their works against evil, but unfailingly gallant to those of gentler nature—a noble but not always practical code that occasionally leads them into tragedy. There is a strong streak of romanticism in Athyria's faith: chaste and courtly love is held up as the ideal, leading many of her knights to pledge themselves to celibacy along with the more formal oaths of service.
