The origin of the Araun Archipelago are said to be caused by a great fire from the sky in millenia past, impacting the western edge of the southern continent to blow the enormous pieces of land west into the Meditran Ocean settling into a cluster far from the mainland. These scattered islands, made up by a large central mass surrounded by several outlying ones, have never gained much renown to the outside world or attention to colonize, partly for their difficulty in being reached, but also for the hazards in maintaining structures built there. The open sea becomes violent near this place, with crosswinds meeting to produce a steady flow of storms to batter the area.
