//The Betrayer, Dark Dreamer, Serpent's Tongue, Walker in Nightmares//
Subtlest of the evil gods, Anvhad is the patron of traitors and unfaithful counselors, backstabbing intriguers and hidden assassins. He is a patient deity, and his faithful will sometimes spend years carefully perfecting their machinations before setting the killing blow into motion. The assassins in Anvhad's service are notoriously cold-blooded, having no passions in life save to hone themselves as living weapons in their god's service. Intelligence, cunning deception, and icy, ruthless precision are the highest virtues in the Dark Dreamer's faith.
Anvhad is a god of masquerades and false pretenses; one of his favorite designs is to pass off his worshipers as those of other gods. His realm extends beyond the physical world into nightmares, where he manipulates his illusions in sleep as well as the waking world. Mainly assassins, illusionists, mystics and those drawn to cleverly crafted deceit worship him.
The Betrayer's influence is especially strong in large cities, where he keeps networks of concealed agents at all levels of society. The Shadow Network is extremely secretive, organized into small cells whose members know only the people in their own division, and chillingly efficient. Anvhad often keeps contact with [[Falco]] and [[Kliasta Kliasta's]] Temples; together, these three comprise the "civilized" evil deities.
**Alignment:** Lawful Evil
**Symbol:** None. Followers wear a featureless silver disc. At higher levels, the silver disc is said to be able to duplicate the holy symbol of any other faith, aiding in the god's deceptive masquerades. If there is a true symbol of Anvhad, it is a well-kept secret of the temple.
**Spheres:** [[DeceptionSphere Deception]], [[WickednessSphere Wickedness]]
**Colors:** None (openly), black and silver.
